A record number of organisations took part in the World Friendship Games 2024 Volunteer Centre Competition

The World Friendship Games 2024 Organising Committee has completed the All-Russian competition for the selection of centres of attraction and recruitment of candidates for Games volunteers.

The competition was attended by educational organisations, state institutions with volunteer centres, as well as non-profit organisations engaged in volunteer development activities.

The Organising Committee received 470 applications from all 8 federal districts of Russia. This is an absolute record for participation in such competitions for organising major international sports events! The most active regions were Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Yaroslavl Region and the Chuvash Republic.

Thank you to all the organisations that applied for the competition. We received a wide response! The winners will be responsible for selecting and training over 7,000 volunteers to support the organisers in more than 20 functional areas. I believe we can form the best team of volunteers.

Alexey Sorokin

CEO of the World Friendship Games Organising Committee

The applications of the candidates were evaluated by an expert committee, which selected 20 finalists. The committee members considered several factors during the selection process, including the level of expertise and experience in implementing volunteer programmes by organisations, the presence of a team of active volunteers, and the willingness to devote their activities to building the volunteer corps of the Friendship Games. On 6 March, the World Youth Festival announced the competition winners' names:
