The presentation of two famous athletes in their new role took place during the roundtable “The Role of the Athlete in the Modern Sports Industry” organised as part of the World Youth Festival 2024 at the Olympic Park, Sirius.

The athletes were presented with their Ambassador Certificates by Alexey Sorokin, CEO of the World Friendship Games Organising Committee.

“Today, two prominent figures from the Russian sports have joined our team. We appreciate your decision to contribute to this young and ambitious project. We hope for your positive attitude and active participation. We will also do our best to ensure the success of the Games,” the CEO of the World Friendship Games Organising Committee welcomed the new ambassadors.

The two-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion, four-time European champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling noted the demand for the tournament:

“Being part of this event is a great honour. I share its purpose and values. I will ensure that the World Friendship Games 2024 is demanded and that athletes get a new platform to perform without any restrictions,” Roman Vlasov commented on his new role.

Anastasia Tukmacheva, a major Russian sports blogger, triathlete and ultramarathoner shared her challenges in her new role:

“I am pleased to have contributed to the creation of the Games. This is the first time the Games are being held and I will do everything I can to promote them. As I interact with a large number of very different people, I see this as my mission.”

The athletes joined the team of ambassadors, which already includes Svetlana Romashina, the most decorated athlete in the history of Artistic Swimming, and Saadat Dalgatova, multiple medallist in world and European championships, and captain of the Russian national boxing team.
