Roman Vlasov and Anastasia Tukmacheva Become Ambassadors of the Games

The presentation of the two famous athletes in their new role took place during a roundtable discussion on The Role of the Athlete in the Modern Sports Industry, organised as part of the World Youth Festival 2024 in the Sirius Olympic Park.

The athletes were presented with their ambassador certificates by Alexey Sorokin, CEO of the World Friendship Games Organising Committee.

“Today, two notable figures of Russia’s sports firmament have joined our team. Thank you for choosing to bring your energy to this young and audacious project. We hope for your positive attitude and active participation. On our part, we will also do our best to ensure the success of the Games,” said the CEO of the Organising Committee as he welcomed the new Ambassadors.

Roman Vlasov, a two-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion and four-time European champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling, noted that there was great demand for the tournament:

“It is a great honour to be part of this event. I share its goals and values. I will do my best to ensure public interest in the World Friendship Games 2024 and that athletes have a new platform to perform without any restrictions,” said Roman Vlasov, commenting on his new role.

Anastasia Tukmacheva, a famous Russian sports influencer, triathlete and ultramarathon runner, described her goals in her new role:

“I’m delighted to be at the origin of the tournament. The Games will be held for the first time and I will do everything I can to promote them. I see my mission in working together with a large number of very different people,” said Anastasia Tukmacheva.

The athletes joined the existing team of Ambassadors, which includes Svetlana Romashina, the most decorated athlete in the history of Artistic Swimming, and Saadat Dalgatova, multiple medallist in World and European championships, and captain of the Russian national women’s boxing team.
