Saadat Dalgatova — Ambassador of the World Friendship Games 2024
Saadat Dalgatova, captain of the Russian women's boxing team, multiple medallist at World and European boxing championships and seven-time All-Russian champion, has been officially introduced as an ambassador of the World Friendship Games 2024. The ceremony took place in Kazan as one of the events of the Games of the Future, the first international phygital multi-sport tournament.
“It was with great enthusiasm that I accepted the offer from the World Friendship Games 2024 Organising Committee to be an ambassador in the preparation and holding of this wonderful new tournament,” said Saadat Dalgatova. “As a practising athlete, I know how important it is to be able to take on the strongest contestants in an atmosphere of fair play and mutual respect. I am glad that the World Friendship Games 2024 will give athletes this opportunity, and guarantee very attractive and comfortable conditions for them to compete. In my new role, I want to be as helpful as possible to the organisers and participants, and I do believe that the World Friendship Games will be a great success, and will earn a worthy place in the international sports calendar.”
Saadat Dalgatova was presented with an ambassador certificate and a personalised World Friendship Games 2024 branded jacket by Alexey Sorokin, CEO of the World Friendship Games 2024 Organising Committee. “Sport teaches us to keep striving, make straight for our goal, and to overcome all difficulties and challenges in our way. Saadat has successfully embodied these qualities in her sports career and we are grateful that she has agreed to share her experiences as we prepare for the Games. Welcome to the team of ambassadors!” said Alexey Sorokin.
Saadat Dalgatova is the second person to be appointed as an ambassador of the World Friendship Games 2024. This follows the appointment of Svetlana Romashina, a seven-time Olympic champion and the most decorated athlete in the history of artistic swimming, as an ambassador of the Games. New ambassadors will soon join the team and play an active role in the preparations for the Games.
